I'm almost embarrassed to say that he is a member of my household.

What has he done? He's got an issue with authority, but at the very least I can try to control what trouble he has cost you.

He's harassed me multiple times and physically attacked me more times than that! He's unpredictable and a danger to anyone! As a member of his household, you should know that!

Please, try to get him to control himself!

Even if he's a member of my household, I'm not his actual parent--or related to him by blood or anything to certify that I should give a damn, much less to guarantee him listening to me.

As things stand, however, I take responsibility for his misdoings. He's confused and prone to violence, so I'll ask you to tread carefully with him and to see if you can forgive his behaviour to date. [it's almost like he's practised this] You seem a reasonable young man yourself, and I imagine you would know that you can always stop dealing with him if he causes you way too much trouble.

Or was that option not obvious?
